Ruiqi Wang 王睿琪 is a composer, singer, and synthesizer player. Originally from Hangzhou, and now based in Europe, Ruiqi creates music that is both intimate and expansive, driven by a deep pursuit of freedom and authenticity. Her work moves fluidly between electronic soundscapes, song forms, improvisation, and performance art. With Two-Options Trio, she distills micro-form compositions into volatile improvisation; with Robot Cat she inhabits her alter ego “Rachael”; and in her solo project QUI CHIU she merges electronics, voice, storytelling and improvisation into unpredictable experiences. Her debut album Subduing the Silence (Orchard of Pomegranates, 2023), featuring an eight-piece all-female chamber ensemble, premiered at Montreal’s L’Off Jazz Festival, and received international critical acclaim.
